MUSIC lovers descended on Guildhall Square last night to enjoy the sounds of opera music.
La Boheme, an opera in four acts by Puccini was screened live from London on the big screen.
The screening was organised by Portsmouth City Council and the Royal Opera House.
La Boheme tells the story of a struggling poet who, one freezing Christmas Eve, meets a beautiful, fragile young woman who will change his life forever.
The performance was the second in a series of three which are part of the BP Big Screens 2014 programme.
The final screening will be Rigoletto on September 17.
