A LIVE opera performance will be broadcast from the Royal Opera House in Guildhall Square on Tuesday.

La Bohème, the story of a struggling poet who meets a beautiful woman, will be shown on the big screen in the city from 7.30pm, live from London.

The screening has been organised by Portsmouth City Council and the Royal Opera House.

Seating will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, or people can bring their own chairs.

A free programme will be available.
