A coffin, vampires, skeletons and finger and eye canapes

VERITY LUSH: Yet another example of distasteful American influence sweeping the UK

Have your say

Credit where it’s due. I went to a Halloween party last weekend put on by my brother-in-law’s mum at her house in Leigh Park.

She’d planned this event for a year and I absolutely can see why now. There were £500 of spooky decorations and effects plastered around the place.

There was a coffin instead of a door, smoke machines, vampires jumping out to scare you as you entered, skeletons in the bath and even canapés that looked like fingers and eye balls. I couldn’t bring myself to eat them and that’s saying something!

We really tried to wow with our costumes – everyone had gone to such great lengths and my Matt won the male category.

Thank goodness! At least that was £100 well spent then.
