A great day out at fun event

COMMENT: People need to have viable alternative to driving

Have your say

Four times a week I drive through Castle Road, Southsea.

It’s such a interesting road with an eclectic mix of shops.

So I was thrilled to toddle down to their Summer Fete last Sunday.

Sun shining, picnic in Floozie (that’s my bright pink pvc wheelie bag ), couple o’ bob in my pocket, and off I went on Shanks’s pony.

Unfortunately, as I got there I’d just missed the fabulous Batala samba band, but there was other live music, and numerous street stalls.

As I was leaving I popped into see one of Portsmouth’s most colourful characters, Nick Hall of Sabre Sales (militaria dealer).

Nick is selling up after 30 years of trading. So if you’re looking to purchase anything military, as his website says...‘come and dig in my nooks and crannies to pick up a bargain’.
