You might have noticed a few more people out running at the moment.
The final weeks of training for the Great South Run have begun and we’re frantically trying to get our distances up.
I’ve struggled with fitness this year. New trainers and orthotics to ease sharp pains in my right knee have hampered progress.
But on the day, a combination of atmosphere, excitement and adrenaline will see us all through.
Let’s not forget the millions being raised for charity. Events like this bring communities together and, although it’s painful, I can’t wait.
Don’t think I’ll be setting a personal best though. After four weeks of holidays over the summer, I’ll be pleased to finish.
