Have your say

By the time you read my column next week. I’ll be a married man!

We were taken back by the friendliness we received at Elson Church in Gosport after our banns were read for the last time.

With everything almost done, I’ve been busy writing my speech. Now I know the role of the groom is to thank everyone involved for making the day happen.

I also know I need to say how beautiful the bridesmaids look and not forget to thank our mothers. But other advice is to not upstage the two best men.

Of course I’ll be saying some wonderful things about my new wife. And as the words start to flow, I think the pressure will be on those best men!
