Asteroid could be blessing if it stops those banking calls

Have your say

Watch out on Friday, as it could be the end of life as we know it.

Yes, our phone networks are under threat. Apparently an asteroid will be flying just 17,000 miles or so past our planet.

Although this is uber-close in asteroid terms, we are, thankfully, unlikely to be hit according to the experts.

But some are saying it could take out a couple of satellites and muck up communications for a while.

And how much would that affect our lives?

I think that my children would be quite shocked at the concept of actually having to call on, rather than call, a friend or two to hang out with.

Aside from that, I’m looking forward to not getting my obligatory 6pm call about banking.
