Bagging a bargain is a great way to ring in the new year

Have your say

One of the things I’ve really missed out on this Christmas is the Boxing Day sales.

Now, this is an important ritual for any girl. I’ve always got up early and gone to the Next sale in Commercial Road and I kinda feel I’ve missed out a bit by being so far away (see above).

I hear that 10 million shoppers were expected to brave the English weather at some ridiculously early hour to get the big bargains.

According to reports, £3bn was expected to be spent in a Boxing Day bonanza.

It’s a ludicrous amount, when you think about the fact most people would have received lovely gifts the day before.

But still, can’t be too bad for the economy can it? What better way to ring in 2013 than with a fantastic bargain!
