What a fantastic David Bowie documentary on BBC2 last week.

It covered five key years in Bowie’s career and fascinated me and the children as they saw all those songs that they know and love from various children’s films thrown into historical relief.

Actually, I’m not being truly fair to the children as, once they’d seen a Bowie tribute last year, they became totally obsessed with his music.

And now they’re super-impressed that the songs they sing are as old as me – though they were quite gobsmacked at his apparel.

Bowie is such an amazing character because he changes so much.

The show, currently on the iPlayer, is well worth the 90 minutes. But watch the language.
