I see Dorset is set to introduce a Community Speed Watch scheme.
It’s basically a bunch of do-gooders in hi-vis jackets clutching clipboards and pointing speed guns at passing drivers.
What must be lacking in these people’s miserable lives that they want to stand at the side of the road trying to catch neighbours speeding?
Now, I’m not saying people should be allowed to fly down a 30 at 90mph, but it’s never these people who get caught.
I’ve never seen the police hiding in the bushes and bus shelters with their speed cameras when people are racing up and down the road in the early hours.
It’s usually Joe Public doing a few miles per hour over the limit on his way home from work who gets caught.
