I tried some decaff instant coffee over the weekend because I didn’t need to get up early for the show and something odd struck me about it.
On the jar it said ‘Coffee strength 3 – medium.’
Now surely, if the coffee doesn’t have any caffeine in it, it doesn’t matter what the strength of the coffee is, does it?
I always assumed that the coffee strength figure related to how much of a caffeine kick the coffee would give you when you drank it.
But with decaff coffee you don’t get any kick at all, so who cares about whether it’s mild, medium or strong?
