CHERYL GIBBS: People will not be dictated to by these terrible acts

Yet again innocent people have lost their lives in a cowardly act that has left me with the most enormous knot in my stomach.

I have a mix of dread and disgust and a panicky feeling about our future.

On Wednesday, London witnessed another terrorist attack when a man ploughed his vehicle into people on Westminster Bridge before fatally stabbing a policeman at Parliament in an horrific knife attack.

So far four people have died and several more are in critical condition – and for what?

What exactly was this person trying to prove?

Their actions proved nothing other than to reaffirm that people will not be dictated to by those who think that the way to make their point is to innocently kill others.

All the attack has done is bring our capital and our country together even more.

Some may see that as a cliche, but I disagree.

Because when staff from nearby hospitals run to the scene without any regard for their own safety and wellbeing to help those in need – strangers they’ve never met – well, I think that is an example of what makes this nation great.

It’s what I hold on to dearly to protect myself from over-thinking how and why things have got so bad, that terror attacks and the threat of being killed simply by walking along the street in the wrong place at the wrong time is now very much part of our daily lives.

Four people are dead and many more injured, some critically.

Just think about that for a second and pray to whoever you pray to that you’ll never, ever find yourself in that awful position.

Also give a moment to think of those who have, without any warning, found themselves having to deal with this disgraceful situation.

My heart, prayers and thoughts go out to each and every one of them.

It makes you realise that life is so precious.

So I urge you to go and hug the person you love after reading this.

ARE RYAN AND JAKE HAVING A BROMANCE ON THE FILM SET?

There’s nothing wrong with a bit of bromance and I’d say over the past few years that men around the world have openly shared their affections for one another.

It’s now more socially acceptable than ever for guys to have a bromance – us ladies have been fine with it for ages, but guys have been slightly slower.

If you believe what you read, actors Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal have apparently formed quite a bond while on the set of their movie The Young & The Restless.

So much so that some of the production staff have reportedly had to ask them to stop messing around together when they’re supposed to be working.

Love it! A case of boys will be boys...

DOES IT MEAN MILEY AND LIAM ARE GOING TO BE PARENTS?

If rumours are to be believed (and you know I’m not one to gossip, but...), we could be about to hear the tiny pitter-patter of celebrity feet.

Apparently, singer Miley Cyrus and on-off-on again beau Liam Hemsworth, who were rumoured to have secretly married recently following a cryptic Instagram post, are installing a children’s playground and crèche at their Malibu ranch home.

Pictures show Miley has added large toys such as a dinosaur next to the swimming pool.

Hmm, so does this mean there’s a little Cyrus/Hemsworth on the way?

I’d say that either they’re planning to have their own ickle family together, or they’re just a very, very good auntie and uncle to go to all that trouble.
