With all the electronic gadgets we allow into our lives, it’s amazing that we still feel the need to buy paper calendars.

I saw a bit of a debate about this very topic on a website the other day and it was great to see how many people hold a loyal devotion to the humble wall calendar.

It’s now quite possible to go through life inputting all the important dates you need to remember into your mobile phone and computer.

But then you don’t get to look at a new picture of your favourite pop star, animal, city or football team every month.

With many of next year’s calendars already out, there’s no shortage of choice.

But the top prize for best calendar I’ve seen goes to Goats in Trees 2012. Talk about specialist interest.
