Another bank holiday weekend is upon us, so it would be a waste if we didn’t cram it full of events.

I have even been hearing whispers of the next Discreet event and am waiting excitedly to get my ticket.

Tonight sees the 2014 season launch party for the Champagne Bar at Southsea Castle from 7pm until midnight. The team will be taking over with live bands, DJs and even providing some platters of delicious food and Champagne cocktails to get you in the mood.

Join them for £10, tickets available from yellowkite.com.

Tomorrow, Amplified Sessions have got another DJ headlining the Astoria who definitely knows how to party.

From 10pm until 5am join Radio One’s DJ Heidi with support from Stu Bryan and Josh Dunleavy.

Not forgetting downstairs where residents DJs Abbo and Chris Vaux go back-to-back for four hours. Things are going to get messy. Tickets are £10 from Resident Advisor.

Also it’s the next Beats & Swing night at Eastney Cellars from 7.30pm until 11.30pm, this time bringing The Petebox.

The Petebox is a solo performer, musician and songwriter who also happens to be the Radio1 beatbox champion.

You don’t see many nights like this in Portsmouth, so don’t miss out as tickets are only £8 from thecellars.co.uk.

As we have Monday off, join the Swanky team for another bank holiday special at Drift Bar on Palmerston Road from 10pm until 4am. Join DJs Dan Smith, Brandon Lilly, Brad Hill and of course Gus Emmett for an evening of the best house and techno for £3 entry before 10.30pm.

Or pop across the road to HKC Vodka Bar from 8pm where DJ Darren Crook has persuaded Chris Vaux to join him in Star Wars-themed madness with all entry donations going to charity. May the fourth be with you.

Lastly, on Monday, Delight take over the Astoria from 10pm until 2am with TYDE, the side project of well-known band Bastille. Join Will Chump and Daddy Alex upstairs for the best rock, metal, punk and hip-hop while TYDE takeover the basement for just £4 entry.
