Concerns over appointment are legitimate in my eyes

COMMENT: Going above and beyond is all in a day’s work at QA

Have your say

Ever since I was 18, or thereabouts, I have realised it does you no good to annoy a pub landlord.

He or she has the power to allow you to have a good night or they can ruin it.

Since the introduction of Pubwatch, if you annoy one landlord chances are you’ll annoy a townful.

But what about former Gosport mayor Wayne Ronayne, who quit after receiving a Pub Watch ban barring him from 36 pubs and clubs (he denies any wrongdoing).

Now he’s been given a seat on the town council’s licensing committee.

Apparently complaining about it is perceived as tantamount to a witch hunt against Cllr Ronayne.

But I fail to see how these are anything but legitimate concerns from landlords.
