I read with interest reports of the inquest into the death of Mark Duggan, shot by a police marksman in an incident that was to spark riots and looting around the country in 2011.
A jury found that the officer concerned had lawfully killed Duggan, leading to angry protests outside the courtroom.
But I look at it this way. If you’re not a gangster and don’t carry guns, the odds on taking a shot from a police marksman are pretty slim, I’d imagine.
Police have been told they will now have to wear body cameras so the public can be reassured they are performing their duties properly.
But why are we pandering to people on this issue?
If they want to riot again, just turn on the water cannons.
