Regular readers will know I’ve been on a bit of a mission with the running – training hard, eating right and even foregoing alcohol unless celebrating after half-marathons.

Colleagues will see me slurping squash, desperately trying to reach my quota of drinking two litres of water a day while simultaneously not having to move my computer into the work loos.

I’ve always wondered whether it was dreamt up to flog more bottled water.

And, hurrah! I was right! Last week I read a study which essentially said that drinking two litres of water a day would not make you look younger, cure cancer, feel healther etc etc.

Drinking water when the body feels thirsty is all you need. Sadly, no mention of wine though.
