Every Thursday during July and August, Cannes hosts Le Festival de Pyrotechnique.
Each week a different nation puts on a massive display. Last week it was Spain and it was spectacular, rivalling the one at Cowes Week.
Then again it was 13C, wet and windy at Cowes last year and it’s 32C here.
Tonight, it’s our turn! Yes, the Brits are entertaining the Cote d’Azur. I’ll be wearing my England top with pride and shouting ‘Bravo l’Angleterre’ very loudly.
Let’s just hope it’s more than a few Roman candles and a Catherine wheel. But seeing as two barges the size of Isle of Wight ferries have arrived, I think we’re about to dazzle the French.
