ZELLA COMPTON: Think hard: is it really worth going to uni?

Have your say

It’s a sign of the times but I was sad to see a bit of my past disappear at the weekend.

I’m talking about the Sports Mail. With the internet and Sky, I suppose less and less of us purchased the paper on a Saturday evening, to the point when it was no longer economic.

In radio terms, I see it as switching off the old AM service for a fresh DAB signal.

As a child growing up in Ryde, I would spend my Saturdays listening to the football commentary on Radio Victory and in the evening my nan would buy a copy of the Mail from the old chap who shouted ‘evening paper’ after bringing the freshly-printed copies over on the old ferry.
