Another new, even bigger cruise ship will arrive off our shores this summer – and her launch is just days away.
Princess Cruises is based in Southampton and is a sister company to P&O. Its 141,000-tonne Royal Princess will take 3,600 passengers and have features such as a skywalk from the top deck, extending almost 30 feet over the ship’s side.
Although large, she’s still nowhere near the size of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas at 225,000 tonnes!
So where next for cruising? Well, an Australian billionaire is going ahead with Titanic 2, built from plans of the original but to modern standards. A fascinating project, but would you cross to New York on her?
