Forecasts have made me very sceptical about an icy winter

RICK JACKSON: Why aren’t we on the streets protesting about Brexit?

Have your say

Horror winter’, ‘exceptionally severe’,’coldest winter of modern times’ were all phrases used in the national press recently.

‘Long-range weather forecasts warn of bitter Arctic gales leading to feet-deep snow drifts right up until February’ reported the Daily Express.

What absolute tripe. Was this just shock tactics to shift copies of the Express?

How poor has the weather forecasting been in recent months? Rain predicted on days which turn out to be sunny and vice versa.

I’ve lost count of the times the Met Office weather forecast I’ve heard on the radio has turned out to be wrong the next day.

So forgive my scepticism about a coming ice age.
