John Lennon once said ‘life is what happens while you are busy making other plans’.

How true, especially for those of us with equine hopes and dreams.

Well, my dream of getting back into the world of horses has finally come to fruition.

For the past month I’ve been dividing my time between my work and home life in Southsea and seeing the new man in my life, my New Forest youngster Aslan.

He is at the brilliant Equos livery yard in Stubbington with the lovely Sarah Judge, who has given us both a warm welcome.

It may not be ideal logistically, but one advantage is that I’m getting superfit on the nine-mile cycle ride every day.

Now I just need to invest in some waterproofs.
