In the implants debacle, I was astonished to read that the debate to fund removal of offending lumps of industrial-grade silicon rumbles on. Just do it already.
Surely the government should be paying the price and then claiming it back, by whatever means, from the implanters?
It must be absolutely hideous for these women to be sitting there with potential time-bombs ticking inside them.
So what if some of them had the work done purely for reasons of vanity?
We all do things which are bad for us, such as drinking, smoking, eating the wrong foods etc.
But the NHS picks up the cost of repairing these indiscretions. Why should faulty French implants be any different?
