ZELLA COMPTON: A 21st century curse – how does a family manage the TV recorder?

Have your say

If you missed the first episode of Appropriate Adult, which tells the story of Fred and Rosemary West’s actions being investigated by the police, then I recommend that you catch up prior to next Sunday’s second part.

It’s fascinating viewing and even though it’s a drama, you can’t help but be compelled by the black horror which so easily edges on to the cusp of dark comedy.

If you knew it wasn’t true, you’d think it was penned by an anarchic comic (the line about approximating the number of dead bodies in the garden is a case in point).

Without a doubt it’s harrowing viewing. But on the other hand it’s a superb piece of drama that stands out among what’s on offer from channels that seem obsessed with showing programmes about roads.
