I was lucky enough, a couple of weeks ago, to be invited to The Rowans Hospice to see for myself what facilities are there.
If I ever had any doubt about fundraising for the charity, it would have disappeared there and then.
The reason for its existence is heart-breaking, but there’s so much that is positive. There were ladies arranging flowers, there was a bustling coffee shop, and generally there was an air of help, support, friendliness and care.
Not only that, but any patient who fancies a glass of wine with lunch can have one – very civilised!
I feel privileged to have been asked to visit, so my thanks to the hospice.
