How about fines for parking that relate to value of cars?

Have your say

I was really annoyed when I read the story of a very wealthy man flouting the law by parking his £850,000 Bugatti Veyron in a disabled bay.

Upon returning to his supercar, the banker laughed as he tore up the £30 parking fine and drove off.

I saw something similar happen in Fareham recently. Clearly this fine wouldn’t hurt someone that rich, so he feels he has the right to do as he pleases.

Let’s make the rules fair, shall we? How about the fine being for a percentage of the value of the car?

Let’s say two per cent. I’m sure that a £17,000 fine would make all the difference. Plus it would keep our council tax bills down if they kept on doing it!
