How can five months have gone by since our wedding?

Have your say

It’s been nearly five months since Matt and I got married. Five months! How time has flown.

To be honest, I can’t quite believe it. I find it scary that time can go so quick.

We’ve had a sneak peak and I blubbed like a baby, but that’s expected from me

It’s taken this long for us to show anyone the wedding photos or the video because we wanted to do it with the family together.

My mum has organised a little afternoon round hers this Sunday where some of the family and friends are coming over to have a look.

I didn’t realise until we looked through the pics that, on the morning of our wedding, Matt and his dad and friends went around Gunwharf and had pictures taken. There are quite a few of Matt pretending to get arrested!

I can’t wait to watch the video. I haven’t told the others that it’s two hours long, but what they don’t know won’t hurt them, will it? Ha ha.

I’ll be kind and fast-forward some of it though, as I’m sure only Matt and I really want to watch the full version.

We’ve had a sneak peak and I blubbed like a baby, but that’s expected from me. Just ask my brother-in-law Shaun – we went to the cinema together once and I cried the whole way through the film. Now he refuses to go and see any films with me.

Anyway, I digress. Our wedding was such an amazing day and I still think about it most days of the week. Is that strange?

I’ve uploaded a highlights video (which is only five minutes long) to my website officialcherylgibbs.com. So if you want to watch a condensed version of my big day, feel free to check it out.

But I warn you there are parts when I was getting ready where I have no make-up on and my hair looks like a scarecrow’s.

Now it’s time to look forward to our one-year anniversary party next May and people will be in for a treat when they find out what we’re doing.

Well, I say ‘we’. Matt’s just letting me get on with it, but it’s going to be epic.

Details will follow, I promise, but for now let me just say I won’t be the only person donning a wedding dress.

At some point I’ll get over the wedding bubble – just not yet!
