Have your say

In the final throws before Christmas really kicks off, a timely reminder that you don’t have to max out your credit card to give your children the ultimate festive thrill.

Like most family homes, we’ve got almost every gadget created – TV, computer games, tablets, toys, karaoke machines, bikes. Our house is an organic car boot sale.

But this week we found another item that entertained the kids for an entire day…a giant cardboard box.

Playing, hiding, adapting, decorating, painting – their imaginations were running wild.

So this Christmas, be brave. Spend £5-£6 on a big empty box, wrap it... and watch tears stream down their faces as they realise that’s it.
