I admit it, Wolf Hall has got me glued to the TV screen

Children adore being spoilt by their grandparents, but is it too much?

Okay, I’m going to have to admit it. Yes, I’ve been suckered into watching Wolf Hall and am loving every minute.

I avoided it to start with, fearing that all the public love was because it’s an adaptation of a decorated novel.

But then, with nothing else to watch except repeats, I did a bit of a catch-up.

Now I find myself glued to the screen with bated breath (even though the characters’ teeth are too perfect – as my mother says, ‘they may be white but they would be snaggled’).

It’s the understated Cromwell who gets me. A sardonic quip here, a pert comment there.

This is perfect viewing, even if it does have uber-terrorist-reject and Homeland drudge Damien Lewis in the mix as Henry VIII.
