Talk about boys and their toys.

Our new home (see above) comes with a garden almost four times larger than the one we’ve left and our old Flymo will not cope.

‘How about a sit-on mower?’ I suggested to my wife.

‘No’ was the swift reply.

But instead of giving in, I argued my corner. It will be so useful, not only for cutting the grass, but for short trips to the corner shop and walking the dogs.

I could also earn extra money by cutting people’s front lawns on the way.

Plus think of the time I’ll save, meaning I’ll be able to do other jobs around the house and help with the dusting, my darling.

The answer was still no!
