I was recently asked what my favourite part of Christmas is and, after much reflection, I’ve concluded that it’s pigs in blankets (sausages wrapped in bacon).
This probably goes to illustrate how stunningly shallow I am (not around the waist of course), but it is the truth.
Whoever thought of wrapping those two meats together was a culinary genius and it’s quite beyond me why we don’t nosh down on them more often.
At the complete opposite end of the scale are walnuts, which have to be the most pointless Christmas purchase of the lot.
No-one ever eats them and yet we all buy them. Quite why we do that is beyond me.
But if a marketeer could harness the walnut effect, I’m sure they’d make their millions.
