Have your say

In an effort to get away from Dani’s House and other such nonsense on the box, I rented series one of Dad’s Army. Educational (ish – the kids have all studied the war at some point) and funny (ish), I thought.

But whilst I remember cracking up at the later series, the first is a little bizarre. It had some good lines, but sadly I had to decipher most of the humour.

As we work through all the series, I’m hoping that the slapstick will tickle the humour buds of my three children.

Obviously it’s all too much for my husband who, being Canadian, has never really understood why I like to watch such shows. So he retired to be a one-man dad’s army, raking up leaves in the garden as autumn finally arrives.
