I’m happy to report that I’ve not touched a drop of alcohol since red wine literally overflowed last Saturday week. I admit I’d overdone it and definitely needed a break from the sauce.
For me, breaking a habit takes will power and nothing else. But going cold turkey requires a focused state of mind where you know you are doing something for your own good.
I quit smoking this way and now I’m doing the same with drink. Not that I have a problem, but a couple of glasses a night, then a big blowout made me feel I needed to change my habits.
I’m replacing the evening drink with de-caff tea and at the weekend I’m locking myself in the cupboard!
