New guidelines have been issued about how much alcohol we should be consuming on a daily basis rather than a weekly one.

I’m so confused about the whole thing, as the units which the government bangs on about don’t have any relevance to the measures that I enjoy at home.

Then there’s the latest line which goes something like: ‘If you can do without for two days a week, you don’t have an alcohol problem’.

Great, I’ll have a couple of days on the wagon, then binge drink for the rest of the week, shall I?

I never know which advice to follow. The glass a day being good for you, or two days of ‘rest’.

I think I’ll stick to my own policy of headache management. Once a week is more than enough for me.
