Ibriefly read a few headlines last weekend about a pill that can reportedly help cure alcoholism when combined with other factors such as psychological help.
What distressed me about the headlines was that, if someone has two drinks a night, they’re now judged by some to be a mild alcoholic.
Hmm – you can see where this is going and why I didn’t want to read any further, can’t you?
Two drinks a night making you a mild alcoholic? When did that happen? I’m still working on the basis of a glass of wine a night being good for your heart.
I’d like to stick to that, thank you very much, without something else to feel guilty about . . . or is admitting I have a large glass of wine the first step on the road to recovery? Aargh.
