If allegations are true, then it’s an absolute disgrace

Well done to pier owners – but there’s more to do

I was really disgusted this week to read the latest news in the phone hacking scandal.

I did a degree in journalism and learned all about integrity and privacy.

If private detectives working for the News of the World really did target the widows of Iraq War victims, then there can be absolutely no excuse.

There is no ‘public interest’ in them doing so, so that cannot be a defence.

These are people who have gone through the lowest points in their life – the kind of things that the rest of us cannot imagine.

If the allegations about them being snooped on end up being true, then that would be an absolute disgrace – and the people responsible will have sold their souls to the devil.
