Congratulations to all the pupils of Bay House School in Gosport for their world record-breaking creation of the largest human Olympic rings (as reported in The News yesterday).
My son took part dressed in yellow and made it on to BBC’s South Today, waving with all the enthusiasm of any teenage boy (not much then).
I don’t know how long the kids will hold the record for, but how cool is is to have been a Guinness world record holder, even if it’s only for a short while?
If their crown does get snatched, as the doom-merchants in the community predict, I hope Bay House fights back and gets the whole of Gosport involved next time. I’ll gladly volunteer to be in the green ring, as it matches my eyes.
