Injury will not stop me from getting to my running goal

COMMENT: People need to have viable alternative to driving

So the torture continues. As I write, I have a pain shooting up my left leg, from my Achilles tendon to the bottom of my, ahem, bottom.

I may have been running a little too much recently, and the pounding on the concrete, coupled with inadequate stretching, has caught up with me.

So I’m taking it easy for the next couple of days, and will swap the pavement for the pool just so I keep on exercising and getting ready for the Great North Run in September, followed by the Great South Run in October.

To try to focus my attention even more, I’ve just sent off for a place in the New Forest 10, which is 10 miles of running through the beautiful forest.

I’d best apologise now: I’ll be praying the sun stays away.
