Have your say

In 2008 I took part in the Great South Run.

It was the one and only time I have ever run 10 miles.

Even before the race, the most I had managed was six miles.

After I’d completed the course, my running trainers went in to the cupboard and haven’t seen daylight since.

But as the father of two energetic daughters, I now want to improve my fitness levels and have decided to start jogging.

I’ve done it before so I know I can do it again.

My target would be to get to a fitness level where I can take part in the Great South Run again.

Every day for the last month I have planned to go for a run.

Even with Milton Common on my doorstep I’m embarrassed to say that my trainers are still in that cupboard.

My lame excuse at the moment is to wait until the weather is a bit better.

But it’s not like I’m not getting any exercise.

A game of hide and seek with Caitlin counts, doesn’t it?
