Apparently the other day I woke up in Roman times.
I opened my eyes to find out three women had been rescued from a house in London where they’d been kept as slaves.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the last time there was slavery in Britain, as a general rule, was when those odd Latin-speaking people were in charge.
It’s incredible to think that three women were kept as slaves in a normal-looking house in North London for 30 years.
One of them might have even been born there.
They weren’t allowed out, they weren’t seen in the community, so no-one knew until one of them managed to get hold of a phone and raise the alarm with the Freedom Charity.
