The freezing temperatures have definitely arrived and one of the most unpleasant things about my daily routine is waiting for the bus to turn up and take me to where I need to be.
I often find myself shivering like a wet rat. Wrapping up in a damp scarf only makes me colder and my eyes don’t like the chill.
I end up looking a mess. Does this relate to you in anyway?
As I stand there waiting for the bus I often dread I’ll get a soaking when it pulls in to pick me up. There’s nothing quite as unpleasant as being splashed by a few litres of cold water.
The other day I saw the bus coming and ran out to signal that I wanted it to stop before rushing back to what I thought was going to be a safe, soak-free position.
I was wrong. The bus driver opened his doors and welcomed me with a pleasant smile as I got on – dripping from dirty puddle water.
I was not happy. As I sat there on the back seat of the bus, I seriously thought about reconsidering how I get around in future.
