Are we more forgiving if we have a bad experience at a celebrity chef’s restaurant than an independent, local one? I think so.
Twice we have dined at Jamie’s Italian in Gunwharf Quays and twice things have gone a bit Pete Tong.
On our first visit a mess up in kitchen meant we had to wait ages for our mains, which then came at different times.
Last weekend they had no bread! No starters for us then.
But the food and service was excellent and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere to it.
It seems that as I’m a Jamie Oliver fan I am much more forgiving of their ‘teething’ problems. Can’t say I’d feel the same if it was a Gordon Ramsay restaurant though!
