A couple of weeks ago a report showed that Chancellor George Osborne was the politician we’d least like to invite over to our houses  for Christmas dinner.

This is cruel and unkind and I think people may have missed a trick.

For anybody who is useless with their money, surely this would be a brilliant opportunity to learn top tips from a finance expert?

Over the years I have squandered thousands on fancy cars and mortgage fees. Moving house three times in 10 years has cost me a fortune, so I would love to have the chancellor round for dinner.

I would relish the prospect of showing him my bank statements and seeking his advice on how I spend my money!
