As you read this many people will be half-way through their ‘Dry January’.
The idea is to try to avoid alcohol for the month and donate any money saved to charity.
Personally I was ashamed at my festive indulgences and thought a break from beer and wine would be the perfect way to start 2015.
Alcohol, apart from being expensive, is also very high in calories.
But I must admit I do feel a little lost on a Saturday evening without my usual beer in front of the telly.
I’m trying to replace it with pints of lime and soda and the occasional tomato juice.
I feel more alert and seem to be sleeping better, but when my kids have spent the afternoon arguing it’s nice to relax with a cold beer!
