In these cash-strapped times of austerity, I have come up with an ingenious way of saving money – sell my car and purchase a 50cc scooter.
My wife thinks a 6ft 16-stone chap riding a moped is utterly ridiculous, especially during the frosty winter months.
But I think it’s a great idea as mopeds are extremely economical to run and you don’t get stuck in traffic jams.
The other positive in favour of owning a moped is the ease of parking. Like many offices the Breeze car park is small and spaces are limited.
There may be one or two practical drawbacks though. Visiting the supermarket after work might become an issue, as might collecting my kids from their afternoon clubs.
But they can walk, right?
