Jez: Sentimental is sweet, but I’d rather have the cash

Have your say

Last week my wife and I decided to have a clear out because we were running out of storage space in the house.

We began emptying various wardrobes, under stairs cupboards and the garage. Several contained various toys my kids had played with when they were younger. There was a Brio wooden train set, a Lego airport and a pink electric piano. There were also boxes full of baby clothes and tiny shoes.

I asked my wife why we had kept all this and not sold it on eBay or a car boot sale. She said it was being kept for sentimental reasons.

One day she explained our kids could have it for their babies. While I find my wife’s sentimental behaviour sweet she is still missing a trick, the chance to earn some cash and clear some clutter.
