Money’s a bit tight in the Judd household this Christmas.

It might have something to do with holidays, or having to empty my bank account every time I go food shopping.

Money can be tight at any time, but it always seems especially important now, mainly because it’s nearly Christmas and we have some childish notion that everything should be perfect.

That’s why job losses are somehow worse if they’re just before Christmas.

And when I heard about a 10th person dying after the Glasgow helicopter crash, my mind naturally did the ‘oh, right before Christmas, how awful for the family’ leap.

That’s when I had to tell myself off. Because it would be just as awful if it happened at any point. My heart goes out to all the families.
