I went past a restaurant in the street the other day and something about the sign at the front really annoyed me.
It said ‘Authentic Chinese Restaurant’. And I thought to myself: ‘Why did you need to write ‘authentic’ on the sign?’
Is there such a thing as an unauthentic Chinese restaurant?
And, if there was, you wouldn’t be likely to ad-vertise the fact, would you?
If it was an unauthentic Chinese restaurant, it might do something like serve Indian food, and what would be the point of that?
In future just put ‘Chinese Restaurant’ please. It’ll stop a lot of confusion!
