Keep the BBQ and sun cream handy, it’s going to be hot

Have your say

Could our summer really have been in late March?

Forecasters have now predicted the awful April and May will continue into June. Surely the weather cannot ruin the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, can it?

Then again, watch old footage of the 1977 Silver Jubilee celebrations and many street parties were ruined by rain.

But I have a good feeling about the rest of the summer. News over Easter in 1976 reported snow for many in the UK, then look what happened.

Our last few summers started early and then petered out in June. I think the opposite is going to happen this year, so keep the barbecue and sun cream handy. You’ll need them!
