Keeping up with technology is too much like hard work

Have your say

My excitement levels threatened to spill over when we picked up our new car – complete with a CD player.

For someone as technologically unsavvy as me, this is what counts as a very big deal.

It wasn’t so long ago that I was winding windows down with a handle.

So I thought getting rid of my old car with its tape deck (normally occupied by the Best of Five or Top Gun soundtrack) finally put me on an equal footing with the rest of the drivers struggling to get through the traffic jams.

But it turns out even CD players are now considered obsolete. No-one buys the shiny little discs any more.

What the new kids on the block are using is a tape deck – the only thing suitable for an iPod adaptor. Typical.
